I know I’ve posted about this book before, and it’s shameful that I still haven’t read it. Every person who has read it says it’s a fantastic MUST READ book. But you know how I am about super long books, and I have to be in the right mood for historical fiction. That being said, my goal was to read this book before the end of the year, and I hear it calling my name the past few days.

Running on Words and Wine 
I don’t think I’ve heard of this book before, but it looks kind of interesting. I used to be a big historical fiction fan (primarily Christian Romance Historical Fiction, which I know sounds really random, but I found one author I really liked and kind of binged for awhile), but these days when I see something in that genre I kind of move it to the bottom of TBR list.
It’s not something I would’ve ever considered reading. Until so many of my friends told me how good it is. And many are ones I trust and know it’s not just hype. And I only recently started enjoying historical fiction in small doses. My biggest turn off is length. I hate long books!!
Completely agree! If a book is really long I will probably never read it.
I recently added this one to my TBR! It sounds really good but I get what you mean when you have to be in the right mood for the length.
I mean, I tried Outlander THREE times and I still can’t get very far. Lol.
I haven’t heard of this book before, but I do like historical fiction dealing with WWII. 🙂
I’ve only every read historical fiction from that time period, and I love it. I highly recommend The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah if you haven’t already read it.

This is one that I really really need to read, too! I know it will tear my heart out but I’ve heard it’s so freaking amazing!
How can so many readers be wrong?! I have to just suck it up and try.
I have all the same thoughts on this one. I own it but it is long!! I agree I feel like I need to be in the mood for it. That cover is gorgeous though!
The cover is one of the best covers I’ve ever seen. Another reason I have to read it.
I grabbed this one since it’s on sale (I have the hardcover, too…oops lol), but I really don’t know if I’ll read it. It’s historical, huge, and third person…maybe I’ll try, though! You’ll have to share your thoughts if you do read it!
It’s too pretty not to own a copy! If I see it on sale, I’ll get it too. I just have the ebook version. And I actually started it last night. Didn’t get very far and so far it’s boring. But everyone says to push through longer because it gets good. We’ll see!

I would download the audiobook if I were you. I think it’s easier to get through in that form. Love this book!
This book has been on my iPad forever, and I finally gave up on reading it. The length intimidated me SO much! I do hope you get to read it because I’ve heard so many good things about it.
I’m having the same struggle with this book. I hear all these wonderful things about it, but I’m totally intimidated by the length.
