First Book of the Year 2018

Hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey.

There’s a lot of pressure in picking the first book of the new year. I feel like it sets the tone for how my reading is going to go the rest of the year. I chose this book after my friend Renee at It’s Book Talk recommended it. I’m so glad I did! So far, I’m loving it.

This isn’t a book I normally would have picked up, but my goal for 2018 is to try more books outside of my comfort zone.

What is your first read of 2018?

I’m starting The Yellow Crocus. I’ve been in a Highlander mood but this one spoke to me and I’ve had it on my kindle for years😣

LOVE the book cover! Glad you’re loving it.
My first read is Long Way Home (third book in the Thunder Road series). I actually didn’t finish it before December ended, so I plan to finish that one up.

This cover has me intrigued! Adding to my TBR! Glad to hear you’re loving it 🙂 I just finished my first book of the year and unfortunately it was a 1 star… Ugh haha. Oh well. It can only go up from there!

Such an excellent choice! Castle Of Water was one of my 2017 favorites and I absolutely loved this book. Cannot recommend it enough. 😉 I hope you will keep enjoying it!

Welcome back to blogging! My first book of the year was The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. Since I started it last year and finished it this year, I didn’t really feel any pressure about picking my first book like I did last year. I’m pretty happy with it.
