{This Week in Books}

This week has been chaotic and busy, so there hasn’t been any reading happening in the evenings. Good thing I didn’t sign up for this round of Bout of Books…I’d be failing miserably at it.

But, I did snag some new books this week, so yay for that. 😉

And my Book of the Month order arrived.

{Stay the Path}

This chest cold continues to linger, so I’m slow getting back into my routine. I ran Wednesday morning for the first time in a little over a week, and could only do a mile before coughing my head off. Really hoping to be completely recovered by Monday, because I planned to start a 12 week half marathon training program…

I signed up for my first half marathon!! I’m so very excited, and nervous, but mostly excited. It’s at the end of April, which doesn’t give me much time to train, and I’m okay with that. I have already come to terms with the fact I will most likely have to walk part of it, and that’s okay. I just want to run one so badly, and if I didn’t sign up, I’d never stick to a training program. Now that the fee is paid, it’s forcing me to get serious about it.

Also, earlier this week, I downloaded a yoga app (Down Dog) that was recommended to me by Lori at Palmers Page Turners. Though I’ve only used it once so far, I loved it.  It was a good mix of easy and more advanced moves – great for a beginner like me. Yoga is something I want to do a lot more of this year! I’m hoping to reorganize my basement this weekend so I can make room for my yoga mat to have a permanent home.

{On a Personal Note}

My daughter couldn’t seem to shake off this virus she’s had since Christmas, and her lack of energy was so concerning that I took her to the doctor this week. Her pediatrician thinks she has mono (at 7 years old!!), and sent us to have blood work done. We won’t know for sure until next week, but it would definitely explain why she’s lethargic and so exhausted. When my child tells me she doesn’t want to go to dance class, because she’s too tired, I know something isn’t right.

 {Get in my Closet}

Found this super cute vest on Amazon for a great deal. It’s just as soft as it looks.

{So Random}

We are supposed to be getting hit with a massive winter storm this weekend. Ice and snow, and it sounds awful. We got a small taste of spring this week with some warmer temps, and now we get to look forward to this crap. I need to stock up on some groceries and necessities before the worst of it hits. Anyone else already ready for spring!?

    Brandie we’re on the same exercise wavelength for the new year…I want to start yoga but I’m clueless so I ordered 3Weekyoga from Beachbody and I’m so excited to try it and incorporate something different into my workouts. I’ve dealt with back, hip and hamstring issues since June so I need a change. Getting older is sometimes just no fun! I’ll take a look at the app as well. Good luck on your training and way to go signing up for the half. On the reading front, I can’t wait for you to read Heart’s!

    I LOVE the closet link! I might need that cause I’m cold! Also ready for Spring. Interested in what you think of Immortalist so many enjoyed it, but not really for me. Half Moon Bay also looks so good. Hope you are all well (we also had the virus this last wk. ugh.)

    A) This snow is for the birds. We had warm enough days that allowed the last snow to melt and now we have a fresh 3-4 inches.
    B) Do you think BOM is worth it? I did it once when there was a crazy deal. But if I’m being honest, I haven’t read the books I got through them yet. And that was like 9 months ago.

      We got so much snow last night. It’s annoying.
      I think the month to month when you only pay for what you want is worth it. So you can skip as many months as you want. I’ve only read 2 of the books I’ve gotten so far but I still love getting them. It’s the only subscription I pay for.
