Here are 5 things giving me joy this week.
The dance studio had it’s first ever end-of-the-year banquet to recognize all of the dancers and their hard work this season. I’m so incredibly proud of Sunnie and all of her accomplishments. And I’m thankful for her wonderful teachers. It’s been a great dance year, and we’re in the home stretch now. Tomorrow is competition tryouts for next season, next week is rehearsals and then recital weekend.
My niece found an abandoned kitten outside of school and asked us if we’d want to keep her. Sunnie named her Mickey, and she’s 9 weeks old. Right now we’re having to keep her separate from our other 2 cats until she can have the rest of her tests done in a few weeks. Sunnie is beyond happy to have another kitty in the house – she’s super sweet and cuddly!
At the beginning of the week, Sunnie was hit hard with allergies that’s had her up coughing every night. Needless to say, none of us have been getting much sleep. And that makes me super cranky. 😀 Even though I felt completely exhausted on Thursday, I took the time to go for a much needed run. It’s amazing what a little exercise can do for your mind and body. I was still tired later in the day (that’s what coffee is for), but I felt more at peace and less stressed because I made a little time for myself. Running is definitely my therapy.
I ran a 5K race with my best friend on Saturday. It benefits the local library and was the second time we’ve run this race together. It was a lot of fun, we made good time and I’m looking forward to running another race with her this summer.
We had some really spectacular weather this week, and we finally got to break in our new fire pit. I love nothing more than calm evenings at home spent with Nunz and Sunnie….grilling food, sitting by the fire and drinking wine.
Hope you all have a great weekend, and thanks for reading!
