W… W… W… Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Worlds is a weekly meme showcasing what you just finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to start reading next. Except I’m changing it up a bit, since I can never plan what I’m reading next (moody reader). Instead I’m going to talk about a book I’ve recently added to my TBR that I’m excited about!
Back-to-back dance competition weekends followed by a busy spring break (and a blog break) – reading hasn’t been a priority. I’m hoping to get some of my reading mojo back this weekend. 😀
what i recently finished reading
The Hiding Place was just okay (on audio). I didn’t mind the narrator, but the story didn’t wow me.
I used to love Nicholas Sparks‘ books, and now they make me cringe. I listened to the audio version, and this book is as cheesy as it gets.
A Woman Is No Man was a difficult, but worthwhile read. I definitely recommend it.
I loved the audio of On the Come Up! It was just as good as The Hate U Give.
what i’m Currently Reading
I’m really loving The Flatshare. It’s witty and adorable without being cheesy.
I’m listening to Maid on audio, and it’s really eye-opening. It’s so easy to take for granted having a great job and a supportive family. Not every person has that nor are they taking advantage of the system – they are truly working hard and doing their best.
what i have recently added to my tbr
I loved the last book I read by this author, so I’m excited to read this one!
WHAT SUNNIE READ
Sunnie is a little obsessed with JoJo Siwa these days. 😀 She got a few of her books for Easter.
I get your back to back dance weekends. It’s been that way for us with soccer lately. It’s rewarding, but exhausting.
I haven’t picked up a Nicholas Sparks book for the exact reason you stated for a long time. I’m too scared. Lol
I’ll have to see if my library has On the Come Up on audio. I didn’t read THUG but I saw and enjoyed the movie.
Karen @ For What It’s Worth
Did you know Nicholas Sparks was at Stark State recently (last week I think)? My boss went and enjoyed it. I saw on Goodreads that you finished The Flatshare and enjoyed it. I’m so glad! I really enjoyed that one, too.
A friend of mine posted she was at the Sparks event on Facebook. I got to meet him about 10 years ago when he did a signing at Akron U. He’s the only author I’ve met. I was obsessed back then. I own all his books in hardback until the past 4. I started getting bored with his stuff.
I loved The Flatshare!! So glad I kept reading it. Super cute and not cheesy!
I am hearing good things about The Flarshare. I’m going to have to add it to my TBR!
You have made me even more excited about On The Come Up! And I’ve heard lots of good things about Flatshare. Have a wonderful week and happy reading!
I’ve been so on the fence about reading On the Come Up since I wasn’t really a big fan of The Hate U Give. I may still give it a chance if the e-book goes on sale or if my library gets it in. Mrs. Everything sounds good.
I’m super excited about The Flatshare. I think I have it on Netgalley! I recently got Maid from the library too – seems interesting!
