Summer Reading Guides – What are you excited to read this summer?

Last summer, I discovered Modern Mrs. Darcy and her Summer Reading Guide, where she recommends the best books of the summer. And this year, I discovered Sarah’s Book Shelves also publishes her own Summer Reading Guide. Not that I need to add more books to my TBR list, but I was excited to see these lists come out this week! And I was happy to see I’ve already read (and loved) several books on Sarah’s guide, and have many of them waiting on my Kindle (and a few physical copies) to read. Are you excited about any of these books?

Make sure to check out both of their blogs for more recommendations and to download their Summer Reading Guides.

Not a bad week of reading! I managed to finish 4 books. My favorite was definitely The First Girl Child by Amy Harmon, which I stayed up way too late last night to finish. But it was worth it! I had fun this week and look forward to the next Bout of Books!

Well, I didn’t get far in the new Tarryn Fisher book before I decided I wasn’t in the mood for it. I should’ve known better…I haven’t been in the mood for romance-only novels lately. I usually love her books, so I’ll have to try it again someday. Instead, I focused on The First Girl Child and I am loving it! I also made it about halfway through the audio of Before I Let You Go. If I can finish both of these books by Sunday night, I’ll be happy. We have a pretty low-key weekend – Sunnie has her dance banquet tonight, and tomorrow we have zero commitments! Hopefully that means extra reading time.

{Bout of Books 25} Day Three & Four

Wednesday was not a good reading day for me. I went on my daughter’s school field trip all day and the evening was equally busy. By the time I sat down to read, I couldn’t stay awake. Yesterday was a bit better – I finished listening to Eat, Pray, Love. Then Tarryn Fisher, who is one of my favorites, surprise published her new book and of course I had to start it, even though I’m in the middle of another really good book (The First Girl Child). So, today I’m going to focus on one of them and also start a new audio book – Before I Let You Go by Kelly Rimmer. My goal by the end of the weekend would be to finish all three, but we’ll see…

{WWW Wednesday} 5-15-19

W… W… W… Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Worlds is a weekly meme showcasing what you just finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to start reading next. Except I’m changing it up a bit, since I can never plan what I’m reading next (moody reader). Instead I’m going to talk about a book I’ve recently added to my TBR that I’m excited about!

This is Bout of Books week, and that always forces me to read more than usual!

what i recently finished reading

Even though it took me awhile to finish, The Things We Cannot Say was a fantastic read. One of my favorites of the year so far. Heartbreaking, as most WWII books are, but such a wonderful, emotional story. I don’t cry often when I read, but I shed some tears with this one. And now I need to read more of this authors books!

The rest were all audio books. As I suspected, I wasn’t a fan of The Bride Test. I should’ve known better. This author’s books just aren’t for me. The Perfect Mother was pretty good on audio, although all of the different moms confused me at first. I really enjoyed Before She Knew Him and Her Pretty Face. I’ve figured out that I really like Peter Swanson’s books on audio and I’m going to have to listen to more of Robyn Harding on audio, too!

what i’m currently reading

I’m loving The First Girl Child, as I figured I would!

I have been loving to listen to nonfiction on audio and a recent book podcast that I listened to mentioned Eat, Pray, Love. I really enjoyed the Italy part, but the rest of the book has been a little slow.

what i have recently added to my tbr

I’ve loved the last few books I’ve ready by this author. Looking forward to this one!

what Sunnie read

A friend of mine gave Sunnie a bunch of books in this series, and she really likes them.
