W… W… W… Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Worlds is a weekly meme showcasing what you just finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to start reading next. Except I’m changing it up a bit, since I can never plan what I’m reading next (moody reader). Instead I’m going to talk about a book I’ve recently added to my TBR that I’m excited about!

I didn’t love The Perfect Match. I wasn’t able to warm up to Tom, the main character’s love interest, until the very end.

When Taylor Jenkins Reid drops a surprise short story – I will drop everything to read it. It was so good!

I was not feeling the other book I had picked up last week, so I decided to try The Clockmaker’s Daughter. This is my first Kate Morton book, and I wish I had tried one of her books sooner! I’m really enjoying it.

Listening to Waiting on You on audio and it’s already a lot better than the last book in the series.

Colleen is self-publishing a romantic suspense in December. I love romantic suspense, and I love when Colleen gives us something different. I can’t wait!

WWW post on Thursday…life has been a bit busy this week! My husband was off work the past 3 days, so I took a few vacation days. And my brother and sister-in-law were visiting from South Carolina. We’ve been focused on family time and doing last minute fun things with Sunnie before she starts school next week. That also means I haven’t gotten a lot of reading done the past few days.

I rarely re-read books, but I decided to listen to the audio of All Your Perfects after having read it a few months ago. And it was just as good the second time. Now I’m planning on listening to all of Colleen Hoover’s books on audio.

I enjoyed The Perfect Couple, but it took me until about halfway point before it pulled me in and I found myself dying to pick it up and finish. I was a little disappointed by the ending. It seemed really anticlimactic. I’ve come to the conclusion this author just isn’t for me, since I’ve tried her books a few times now, and none of them have blown me away.

Good Luck With That is everything I hoped it would be. I find myself reading it slowly, because I’m enjoying it so much and don’t want it to end.

I have been on the library audio hold list for I’ll Be Gone In The Dark for a long time and am really excited to finally get to listen to it! So far it’s really creepy and intriguing and I love the narrator – she’s doing an awesome job!

Taylor Jenkins Reid is another auto-buy author for me, and I’m really excited for her next book!

I’m glad I kept listening to Something in the Water, despite its slow start. I really enjoyed it.

I was on a long audio hold list for The Cabin at the End of the World and finally got a copy last week. What a bizarre and creepy book. There were parts that bored me, and then other parts that were gripping. I listened to the entire book in almost one day just because I had to know how it ended.

I’ve mentioned before how much I love R.S. Grey and her romantic comedies. Not So Nice Guy was just as good as I hoped it would be!

I am enjoying The Perfect Couple, and I’m curious to see how the mystery is going to unfold. At this point in the book I have no clue what’s going on, and I prefer it that way. If I figure out the twist early, the book is ruined.

Good Luck With That is one of my most anticipated books of the year. I was so thrilled that my copy from Amazon arrived a day early, and I started reading it immediately! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get very far, as the past few days have been super busy.

I read All Your Perfects a few months ago, but started listening to the audio version this week. I’m over halfway and it’s breaking my heart all over again.

{Review} All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover

about the book

The #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends with Us—whose writing is “emotionally wrenching and utterly original” (Sara Shepard, New York Times bestselling author of the Pretty Little Liars series)—delivers a tour de force novel about a troubled marriage and the one old forgotten promise that might be able to save it.

Quinn and Graham have a perfect love story, but their unique connection is threatened by their imperfect marriage. The memories, mistakes, and secrets that they have built up over the years are now tearing them apart, day by heartbreaking day. The one thing that could save them might also be the very thing that pushes their marriage beyond the point of repair. So do they risk it? Is their history worth saving?

All Your Perfects is a profound novel about a damaged couple struggling with a relatable issue – infertility – whose potential future hinges on promises made in the past. In Colleen Hoover’s inimitable style and brilliant narrative voice, this heartbreaking page-turner asks: Can a resounding love with a fairytale beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people?

My Thoughts

Saying marriage is hard is an understatement, and there are often times of heartache that are not always easy to survive. Colleen tells the story of a couple deeply in love and trying to survive the biggest crisis of their marriage. Although I personally have never dealt with infertility, it didn’t make the story any less relatable and real and heartbreaking. It was like I was right there with Quinn and Graham and felt their pain. That’s what Colleen’s books do to me every time – they make me feel and imagine myself in the same situation as her characters. I always feel like I’m holding my breathe and bracing myself for the inevitable heartache that I know is coming. But it’s such a good heartache, because she has yet to disappoint me in the end. This book opened up my eyes to the pain of infertility and I believe it’s a book that could help marriages – it’s that powerful.

You don’t want to miss this one. Another unique and incredible love story – she’s still on her game – and she’s proven it once again with All Your Perfects.

Bottom Line

Beautiful, emotional and truly unforgettable. A marriage-in-crisis story to rival all others.
