{TBB Asks} Shopping (Not My Favorite Thing To Do)

I love these TBB Asks surveys.

  1. Top 3 shops? Target, Target and Target. Seriously, that’s the only place I shop except Amazon and Giant Eagle for groceries.
  2. Where is the majority of your shopping done – in store or online? – I try to buy everything I can online so I don’t have to go to a store. I use the drive up option at Target several times a month. And I love Amazon.
  3. What’s your favorite thing to shop for? – Books!
  4. What do you just HATE shopping for? – I really don’t like to shop at all, but I loathe grocery shopping.
  5. What’s your most favorite thing you’ve ever bought? – Probably my Kindle Paperwhite and my handbag from All Saints. And I love getting new running shoes. 😀
  6. Do you prefer shopping alone or with others? – I’d rather do it alone, so I don’t feel rushed.
  7. Best Bargain? I find great deals on Amazon and sometimes at Target. I always try to wait until things go on sale before buying.
  8. Thrift Store Shopping? – I don’t really thrift shop, but I’m not opposed to it. I just never do it.
  9. Best cities for shopping? – Since shopping isn’t my thing, I couldn’t tell ya.
  10. Who’s your style or fashion icon? – Tarryn Fisher. I love her style and she has a blog where she’ll post outfits and recommendations.

{TBB Asks} Relationships

I love these TBB Asks surveys.

  1. Who is your oldest friend/how did you meet? This would be my friend, Sarah. We met at church camp when we were in middle school and stayed friends all through high school. We drifted apart for several years, but then about 6+ years ago she ended up coming to work for the same company I’m working at and we rekindled our friendship.
  2. Tell us about your circle of support. Who are your people? My husband is my constant support and my friend, Lisa, who has been my best friend for 15+ years now.  I have a few close friends who I know I can always call on if I need them, even if we don’t talk on a regular basis. I spend a lot of time with my dance mom friends. We support and help each other a lot throughout the year. And my mom – I couldn’t do life without her.
  3. How did you meet your partner?  Through mutual friends
  4. How is Valentine’s Day celebrated in your home? We don’t really celebrate it. We get Sunnie a little gift and card, but that’s it.
  5. What is your love language?  I’d have to say words of affirmation and physical touch are my top two, and acts of service is also important to me.
  6. Do you prefer receiving flowers or chocolates? I’ll never say no to dark chocolate. Once in awhile my husband surprises me with flowers, because he’s really sweet.
  7. What is the most meaningful gift you have ever received or given? I love all the homemade cards and things Sunnie has given me over the years – and I keep everything. Notes and letters from my husband, too. And my first Kindle (from my husband – 8 years ago). It changed my reading life.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

{TBB Asks} Keep Me Entertained

I love these TBB Asks surveys.

  1. Books you have read multiple times. I honestly never re-read books. I have read Twilight twice and I listened to the audio version of All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover after having read the book months prior. My goal is to get the audio versions of a lot of my favorite books.
  2. Favorite book/author of all time. Ha! This is a hard question because I have a lot of favorites. Books – Making Faces by Amy Harmon, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker, Now That You Mention It by Kristan Higgins, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Favorite authors – Colleen Hoover, Amy Harmon, Tarryn Fisher, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Harlan Coben, Sarah Jio, Kristan Higgins…I could keep going.
  3. Favorite TV show to binge.  I honestly don’t watch a lot of TV. But my husband and I will binge watch The Ranch on Netflix. And we’ll watch reruns of The Office and FRIENDS all the time.
  4. Favorite new-ish TV show.  I just started watching Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and I love it.
  5. Favorite movie of all time. Halloween (the original), National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation & Clueless (I can’t pick just one!)
  6. Movie you are looking forward to watching. I’d like to see the new Mary Poppins, but I can wait to rent it. Honestly, all the Disney movies coming out in the next year kind of make me excited. The new Toy Story, Aladdin…it’ll be a fun year for taking Sunnie to the movies.
  7. First concert you attended. My mom took me to the Wayne County Fair and I got to see Reba. I LOVED her (still do).
  8. Ultimate concert. Seriously, NKOTB puts on an amazing show. I have seen them many times in the past 10 years, and I’m going to see them again in May. I can’t wait! Other singers I would love to see in concert are Celine Dion (she has the most amazing singing voice imo), Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake.
  9. Favorite music/artist/band. NKOTB, Celine Dion, Christina Perri, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake
  10. How do you listen? I use the Apple Music app and listen through my phone, usually in the car. We have a few bluetooth speakers around the house, too. Sunnie uses the music app more than me! 🙂

{TBB Asks} December – Holiday Edition

I love these TBB Asks surveys.

  1. Candy Canes? No. Unless it’s peppermint bark or made into a cookie, I’m not a fan. I won’t just eat a candy cane for fun.
  2. Christmas morning early riser or sleep in? Early riser always. My 8-year-old daughter will have me up before 6:00, which is the case most mornings anyway.
  3. Did you shop on Black Friday?  No. I usually avoid it. I hate the crowds and standing in line for anything. I did stop at Target on Thursday night and couldn’t believe how crazy busy they were. I got what I needed and got the hell outta there quickly.
  4. Christmas tree up in November?  Yes. We usually put it up the weekend before Thanksgiving.
  5. Do you get holiday ideas from Pinterest? Almost every Elf on the Shelf idea I get is from Pinterest.
  6. Christmas Glam or Ugly Sweater? Neither. I go for comfortable.
  7. Stocking Stuffers: Wrapped or Unwrapped? Wrapped. While Sunnie is still little, I wrap every little thing. But as she gets older that may change.
  8. Traditional or Modern Christmas Songs? I love it all, but I can only handle it from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas day – any other time of year it’s a big no. One of my favorites is Michael Buble’s Christmas album.
  9. Fruitcake? I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had one, and based on how most people feel about it, I don’t want one, either.
  10. Is your Christmas shopping finished? I just ordered some more gifts this morning and plan to do the rest of my shopping this weekend. I’ve got the majority of it done.
  11. Is there snow in December where you live? Sometimes. I’m in Ohio, and the weather is never the same from year to year. Last year we did have snow (the only days I like snow is on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). I think the few years before that it was unseasonably warm over Christmas.
  12. Classic Show: A Charlie Brown Christmas or Rudolph? Charlie Brown all the way. We love Charlie Brown in our house, in fact, Sunnie named one of our cats Charlie Brown. 🙂

{TBB Asks} November – Giving Thanks Edition

More TBB Asks fun!

  1. Have you ever kept a gratitude journal? I have one now, but I’m really bad about remembering to write in it every day.
  2. Hosting Thanksgiving at your house? No, not this year. We host my parents every other year. This year we go to my in-laws.
  3. Favorite food for Thanksgiving meal? Homemade apple & raisin stuffing.
  4. What one thing in Nature are you grateful for? I love running at the park in the fall and seeing the trees changing beautiful colors.
  5. Pumpkin Pie? I’m not a big fan. I might have one small piece but I have to eat it with whipped cream.
  6. Traditional Cookbook? I use Pinterest for all of my recipes, except for Thanksgiving dinner. I have notes from my mom and make the exact meal I had every Thanksgiving growing up. It is my favorite meal of the year (every other year).
  7. Oven-baked or Deep-fried Turkey? Oven
  8. Thanksgiving leftovers? Of course! They are the best leftovers!! We usually eat dinner at 1:00 and the best part is reheating leftovers to eat later that night. And again for lunch the next day.
  9. What is one household product you are most grateful for? Another interesting question…I am going to say my vacuum. Lol. I have a Shark that I love and use daily. #neatfreakalert
  10. Are you most grateful for home-cooked meals or restaurant meals? Definitely home-cooked. We eat at home most of the time and I definitely prefer that to going out.
