W… W… W… Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Worlds is a weekly meme showcasing what you just finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to start reading next. Except I’m changing it up a bit, since I can never plan what I’m reading next (moody reader). Instead I’m going to talk about a book I’ve recently added to my TBR that I’m excited about!

what i recently finished reading

Audio Books:

Forbidden Falls was cute. I think I may have liked it more if I read it instead of listened to it, because I didn’t love the narrator. I definitely want to continue the series sometime in the future.

I started out loving Followers because it was unique, but halfway through I lost interest and I really disliked the ending.

Between Shades of Gray has been on my TBR list for years. Such a heartbreaking story – the audio book was very good.

what i’m Currently Reading

I spent more time binge watching Food Network shows with my husband the past week than I did reading. 😀 I’m almost done with The Giver of Stars, and I’m still loving it.

A few weeks ago I decided to delete a bunch of books off my TBR list that I knew I’d never get to and start focusing on back list books. Audio books are helping me catch up on the books I’ve had on my list for awhile – I started listening to The Marriage of Opposites, and I really like it. Alice Hoffman became a must-read author for me last year after I read 3 of her books and loved all of them.

what i have recently added to my tbr

I read an Emily Henry YA book a few years ago and loved it. I think this is her first adult contemporary book and it sounds really cute.

Long Bright River lived up to the hype. It was a little slow to get into, but then it took off and I couldn’t put it down.

Audio Books:

American Predator was okay. I lost interest in the middle. Nothing to See Here surprised me – I really enjoyed it. If Only I Could Tell You – this one was okay, but the author tried to cram so many issues into one book and it seemed a bit much. I had tried reading The Family Upstairs last year and couldn’t get into it. So I tried the audio version before completely giving up on it and definitely enjoyed it more that way.

what i’m Currently Reading

My first Jojo Moyes book. I know…that’s crazy. I’m loving it so far.

After watching the Virgin River series on Netflix (and loving it), I wanted to jump back into reading the series. I had stopped at book 8 – Forbidden Falls. Listening to it on Libby.

I have an ARC of Followers, but haven’t had a chance to read it.  I saw the audio version was on Hoopla, so I immediately downloaded it and started listening to it yesterday. It’s really good and I love the narrator.

what i have recently added to my tbr

I loved The Bookish Life of Nina Hill – really looking forward to this one!

Where the Lost Wander is a slow burn historical romance that I took my time reading and loved every minute. Amy’s writing is so beautiful that it’s hard not to fall in love with her books. I never would’ve imagined I’d love a story about the Oregon Trail, but she amazed me yet again!

I did enjoy The Wives more my second time – the audio is great! Ever since reading The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, I’ve been working on reading all of Abbi Waxman’s books. I listened to The Garden of Small Beginnings and really liked it. One Snowy Night was just ok. A quick listen.

I thought I’d have to wait forever to get my library hold for Such a Fun Age and was really excited to get it so quickly! I loved this one on audio!

what i’m Currently Reading

So, the hype got me with Long Bright River. My library hold was going to take forever, so I took a risk and bought a copy. I’m hoping it was worth it!

I just started listening to American Predator.

what i have recently added to my tbr

I love Julie Buxbaum, and I’m looking forward to this one!

Happy New Year! I’m trying to get back into the swing of blogging again this week. Over the holiday break, I did read some really fantastic books…

what i recently finished reading

American Dirt was a really incredible read and worth the hype.

Colleen Hoover never disappoints – this was a sweet novella and perfect for me during the busy holiday break.

I LOVED The Two Lives of Lydia Bird. Even more than the author’s first book (One Day in December).

I enjoyed all of these audio books with the exception of Fleishman is in Trouble. It was meh. I am especially excited to say that I finally finished my FIRST Stephen King book! I loved listening to The Outsider, even despite how long it was. I’m going to have to listen to more Stephen King audio books this year.

what i’m Currently Reading

My first physical book of 2020 had to be Amy Harmon. I started 2019 with one of her books and it ended up being my favorite book of the year. I’m loving Where the Lost Wander.

I have already read The Wives, and I liked it. I had it hyped up a little too much in my mind and wanted to give it another chance to see if I’d like it more the second time. Listening to the audio book on Hoopla and really like the narrator.

what i have recently added to my tbr

I love Colleen Oakley and pre-ordered this book, which released yesterday. I am so excited to read it.

Sunnie did more playing than reading over the break. Still working on this one. For our last day of Christmas break, we did some shopping at the bookstore and she is excited to get back to reading (and a normal routine) again. 🙂
