W… W… W… Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Worlds is a weekly meme showcasing what you just finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to start reading next. Except I’m changing it up a bit, since I can never plan what I’m reading next (moody reader). Instead I’m going to talk about a book I’ve recently added to my TBR that I’m excited about!

what i recently finished reading

I listened to The Rules of Magic and loved it. Alice Hoffman has quickly become a favorite author.

The Dutch House was fantastic! I alternated between reading it and listening to the audio version narrated by Tom Hanks. One of the best audio books I’ve ever listened to. I would love to read more books by Ann Patchett and need some recommendations on which one to read next!

The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker was my favorite book of 2018. BUT, her books have always been hit or miss for me. Some I love, and others I really dislike. Unfortunately, Say You Still Love Me falls in the dislike category. I was really bored and didn’t care for the characters at all.

what i’m Currently Reading

I am finally in the mood to read some suspenseful books, just in time for Halloween! I usually love Tarryn Fisher’s books, and so far I’m enjoying The Wives.

I’m listening to The Grace Year on Libby, and it’s good. I like the narrator.

what i have recently added to my tbr

I love Amy Harmon and can’t wait for this book.

Reading anything good this week?

This is two weeks worth of reading – last week got a tad busy and I skipped my blog post.

what i recently finished reading

I loved Inside Out by Demi Moore. I listened to the audio version, which she narrated. I loved her honesty and was impressed by how much she has overcome in her life.

Our Kind of Cruelty felt like another messed up version of You by Caroline Kepnes. It was just meh.

I liked The Widow’s House, and I think I could’ve loved it, if it weren’t for information overload that became confusing and took away from my listening experience. Too many connections to too many people made it difficult to keep it all straight. Probably would’ve been better to read it instead of listening.

I haven’t read a Colleen Hoover book I didn’t love. She blew me away yet again with her upcoming release.

I really enjoyed The World That We Knew. It was a slower read, unlike Faithful, which I flew through in a few days, but I really liked it.

I listened to The Only Plane in the Sky, and it was an extremely emotional experience. The audio version is incredible. If you read/listen to only one nonfiction book this year, make it this one. This book will stay with me for a long time.

I really liked the audio for If You Want To Make God Laugh. I have another book by this author on my TBR that I Iook forward to reading in the future.

what i’m Currently Reading

I am loving The Dutch House! I went back and forth on whether I wanted to read it or listen to the audio version, because it’s narrated by Tom Hanks, which I’ve heard is fantastic. But my eBook library hold came in before the audio version.

Since I’m loving Alice Hoffman’s books, I started listening to The Rules of Magic. I’m loving the narrator and the story so far.

what i have recently added to my tbr

A new book by my favorite suspense author.

what i recently finished reading

I really liked The Wolf Wants In and will definitely read more books by this author.

Last year I tried reading The Dream Daughter and couldn’t get into it. I decided to try the audio version and loved it. I’m glad I gave it another try.

I finally found a book to get me out of my reading slump! I loved Faithful and didn’t want to put it down! 5-star books have been few and far between for me these days. This one made my favorites list. And the added bonus is I read a book that’s been on my TBR list for awhile. I usually stick to newer releases, but I’m so glad I picked this one up.

I enjoyed Red at the Bone on audio. Multiple narrators made it a great listening experience.

what i’m Currently Reading

After loving Faithful, I was really excited to pick up a copy of Alice Hoffman‘s new release at the library this week.

I just started Demi Moore‘s memoir this morning, and it’s so good I’ll probably finish it today.

I also received a copy of the upcoming Colleen Hoover release. You know she’s my favorite, and I can’t wait to start it!

I’ve been seeing this one all over the book world. Sounds really good.

what i recently finished reading

Audio books: I really enjoyed Searching for Sylvie Lee and Swimming for Sunlight. Time After Time was meh. I switched to the audio version of After the Flood once I was about halfway into the book, and it was really good.

I loved The Broken Girls, which was also on audio. It was a 5-star book for me, and I’ve not had a lot of those this year. Now I’m excited for the author’s new release, The Sun Down Motel, which comes out in February. And I may need to go back and listen to some of her older books, too.

I don’t think I was in the right frame of mind to read The Dearly Beloved. I started out thinking I would love it, but it ended up being really slow, and I got bored. I wish I had tried the audio version instead.

what i’m Currently Reading

I’ve been having a really hard time picking a book to read. One of my book blogging friends recently raved about Faithful, so I decided to give it a try. It’s a book I’ve had on my TBR and my Kindle for a long time. Maybe picking up some of my back list books is what I need to get out of this slump!

I also picked up Bringing Down the Duke thinking a fun historical romance would hold my attention. It’s really cute, but I’m not very far into it, yet.

Just started The Wolf Wants In on audio today.

what i have recently added to my tbr

It has been many years since I read anything by Jane Green. I was approved for Vacation on Netgalley, and it sounds really good.

I’ve been in a bit of a reading funk and have been suffering from book ADD the past few weeks. Nothing really holds my attention and I’m not sure what genre/books I’m really in the mood for. I took a break from reading for most of the weekend, because my husband and I went on a little getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Trying to get back into the groove and will hopefully have a better reading week!

what i recently finished reading

Both of these were audio books. I really liked A Nearly Normal Family but The Rest of the Story was just meh. I don’t think I was in the mood for YA.

what i’m Currently Reading

I picked The Dearly Beloved back up and am really enjoying it. Hoping it holds my attention better than the last few books I’ve read.

I switched to the audio version of After the Flood – it’s really good!

I’m also listening to the audio of Searching for Sylvie Lee, which I’m really enjoying.
